Craters Inc.: Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 23, 2026
These terms apply to your use of Craters Inc., a space colony game for phones and tablets made by Dinar Garipov (“I”, “me”), in every edition: the App Store edition, any Google Play edition, and any other build I distribute. By installing or playing Craters Inc. you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t install or play Craters Inc.
The short version:
- Craters Inc. is provided “as is”, without any warranty. You play at your own risk.
- I am not liable for any loss or damage from playing Craters Inc., including any loss of progress or data, to the fullest extent the law allows.
- Your progress is on your device and is your responsibility. I can’t recover it.
1. License to play Craters Inc.
I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and play Craters Inc. on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial enjoyment. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, redistribute, modify or reverse-engineer the game, present it as your own, or remove copyright notices from it, except where the law expressly allows it.
App Store edition. If you got Craters Inc. from the App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these terms about the App Store edition, Apple’s agreement wins. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to maintain or support Craters Inc.
Google Play edition. If you got Craters Inc. from Google Play, Google Play’s terms of service also apply to how you got it. Google is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to maintain or support Craters Inc.
2. Game provided “as is”
Craters Inc. is provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults, and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, compatibility, non-infringement, and that Craters Inc. will be free of errors, bugs or loss of progress, or will work without interruption on your device. You play Craters Inc. entirely at your own risk.
I am under no obligation to provide support, maintenance, updates, bug fixes or new versions, and I may change, rebalance, add or remove features and content, or stop developing or distributing Craters Inc., at any time without notice.
3. Game items have no real value
Credits, goods, buildings, colonists, research and everything else you earn or build in Craters Inc. exist only inside the game. They are not your property, have no real-world value, and can’t be sold, traded or exchanged for money or anything outside the game. I may change, rebalance or remove them in updates.
4. Your progress is your responsibility
Craters Inc. saves your progress only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). I have no copy of it and no way to recover it. Your progress can be lost, for example when you uninstall the game, use Reset progress, lose, replace or reset your device, restore an older backup, or when something goes wrong. You alone are responsible for:
- your progress and your device’s backups. Device backups such as iCloud Backup or Google backup are a service of Apple or Google, not a guarantee from me;
- your device’s time. The game uses your device’s clock to work out what happened while you were away; changing it can cause unexpected results in the game;
- notifications. Reminders may arrive late, early or not at all; don’t rely on them for anything;
- links you open from the game, and the websites behind them.
5. Play safely
- Photosensitivity. Craters Inc. has flashing lights, bright effects and screen shakes. A very small number of people may have seizures or other reactions when exposed to such effects, even with no history of epilepsy. If you or anyone in your family has had seizures or epilepsy, ask a doctor before playing. Stop playing at once and see a doctor if you feel dizzy, have blurred vision, eye or muscle twitches, disorientation, loss of awareness or any involuntary movement.
- Take breaks. Stop if your eyes, hands, wrists or arms get tired or sore.
- Be aware of where you are. Don’t play while driving, walking in traffic or doing anything that needs your full attention.
- Children should play only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for their use of the game.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I shall not be liable for any damages or losses of any kind arising out of or in connection with Craters Inc. or these terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, and even if I was advised of their possibility. This includes, without limitation:
- loss, corruption or reset of game progress, saves, settings or other data;
- loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, time or opportunities;
- damage to your devices, software or other files, or battery drain;
- missed or unwanted notifications;
- interruption of play, or the inability to play;
- any personal injury or health effects from playing, to the extent the law allows this to be excluded;
- any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages;
- damages caused by third-party services, app stores, operating systems, device backups or other software.
Where liability can’t be excluded but can be limited, my total liability for all claims together is limited to the amount you paid for Craters Inc. in the twelve months before the claim, or, since the game is free, to zero where the law allows it and otherwise to the lowest amount the law allows.
Mandatory law. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranties to be excluded or certain liability to be limited. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as, where applicable, liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or under mandatory product liability or consumer protection law. In those cases the exclusions and limits above apply to the greatest extent the law allows.
7. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to hold me harmless from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use or misuse of Craters Inc., or your breach of these terms.
8. Third-party components and artwork
Craters Inc. includes open-source software and artwork by other creators, listed under Credits and Licenses in the game’s Settings, each under its own license. Those licenses apply to those parts, and their authors give no warranty either.
9. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep playing Craters Inc. after a change, the updated terms apply. If you don’t agree with them, stop playing and uninstall the game.
10. Ending
You can stop playing Craters Inc. at any time by uninstalling it. Your license ends automatically if you break these terms. Sections 2 to 7 and 11 continue to apply after that.
11. General
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
- Severability. If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that part is limited or replaced by a valid provision that comes as close as possible to its intent, and the rest of the terms stay in effect.
- No waiver. If I don’t enforce a part of these terms, that doesn’t mean I give up the right to enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and, for the App Store or Google Play edition, that store’s terms, are the whole agreement between you and me about Craters Inc.
