Yasa: Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 20, 2026
These terms apply to your use of Yasa, a todo app for macOS, Windows and Linux made by Dinar Garipov (“I”, “me”), in every edition: the downloads from GitHub, the Mac App Store edition, and any other build I distribute. By installing or using Yasa you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t install or use Yasa.
The short version:
- Yasa is provided “as is”, without any warranty. Use it at your own risk.
- I am not liable for any loss or damage from using Yasa, including any loss of data, to the fullest extent the law allows.
- Your data is on your computer and is your responsibility. Keep your own backups.
1. License to use Yasa
I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Yasa on devices you own or control. You may not sell, rent or sublicense the app builds I distribute, or remove copyright notices from them.
If Yasa’s source code is published under an open-source license, that license governs the source code and your rights to it; these terms govern your use of the app.
Mac App Store edition. If you got Yasa from the Mac App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Where it conflicts with these terms about the App Store edition, Apple’s agreement wins. Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to maintain or support Yasa.
2. Software provided “as is”
Yasa is provided “as is” and “as available”, with all faults, and without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, availability, compatibility, non-infringement, and that Yasa will be free of errors, bugs or data loss, or will work without interruption. You use Yasa entirely at your own risk.
I am under no obligation to provide support, maintenance, updates, bug fixes or new versions, and I may change or stop developing or distributing Yasa at any time without notice.
3. Your data is your responsibility
Yasa stores everything on your computer, in the files and folders you choose (see the Privacy Policy). I have no copy of your data and no way to recover it. You alone are responsible for:
- keeping backups of your
.yasafiles and other data. Yasa’s own local backups and its memory of deleted items are a convenience, not a guarantee; - your passwords. If you protect a document with a password and forget it, the document can’t be opened by anyone, including me;
- sync services you use (iCloud Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, network drives and others). Conflicts, overwrites, lost or corrupted files caused by them, or by how Yasa works with them, are your risk;
- AI agents you connect to Yasa. Whatever an AI tool reads, changes or deletes through Yasa’s MCP server, and whatever it sends to its provider, is between you, the tool and its provider;
- links you open from tasks, and the websites behind them;
- what you put into Yasa, and checking that Yasa is suitable for your purpose. Don’t rely on Yasa for anything where a missed task, a wrong date or a lost file could cause harm (for example medical, legal, safety or financial deadlines).
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I shall not be liable for any damages or losses of any kind arising out of or in connection with Yasa or these terms, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, and even if I was advised of their possibility. This includes, without limitation:
- loss, corruption, overwriting or disclosure of data, including tasks, documents, backups and passwords;
- loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, time or opportunities;
- missed deadlines, appointments or obligations;
- damage to your devices, software or other files;
- interruption of use, or the cost of replacement software or services;
- any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages;
- damages caused by third-party services, operating systems, sync services, AI tools or other software.
Where liability can’t be excluded but can be limited, my total liability for all claims together is limited to the amount you paid for Yasa (including Yasa Pro) in the twelve months before the claim, or, if you paid nothing, to zero where the law allows it and otherwise to the lowest amount the law allows.
Mandatory law. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranties to be excluded or certain liability to be limited. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, such as, where applicable, liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or under mandatory product liability or consumer protection law. In those cases the exclusions and limits above apply to the greatest extent the law allows.
5. Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, you agree to hold me harmless from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use or misuse of Yasa, or your breach of these terms.
6. Purchases (Mac App Store)
Yasa Pro is an optional one-time in-app purchase sold and billed by Apple. Payments, refunds and purchase restoration are handled by Apple under its terms; I can’t process refunds myself. Pro unlocks the features described in the app at the time of purchase; I may change, add or remove features in future versions. Features you already use are designed to keep working, but this is not a warranty (see section 2).
7. Third-party components
Yasa includes third-party open-source components, each under its own license. Those licenses apply to those components, and their authors give no warranty either.
8. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Yasa after a change, the updated terms apply. If you don’t agree with them, stop using Yasa.
9. Ending
You can stop using Yasa at any time by uninstalling it. Your license ends automatically if you break these terms. Sections 2 to 5 and 10 continue to apply after that.
10. General
- Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
- Severability. If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that part is limited or replaced by a valid provision that comes as close as possible to its intent, and the rest of the terms stay in effect.
- No waiver. If I don’t enforce a part of these terms, that doesn’t mean I give up the right to enforce it later.
- Entire agreement. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy and, for the Mac App Store edition, Apple’s license agreement, are the whole agreement between you and me about Yasa.
